What It Is?

Allergic conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the thin, clear tissue that lines your eyelids and covers the white part of your eyes. This reaction occurs when your eyes encounter allergens such as pollen, dust mites, or pet dander.

• Airborne allergens like pollen from trees, grasses, and weeds

You should seek care if your eye symptoms are painful, if you notice changes in vision, or if standard allergy eye drops fail to reduce discomfort. Persistent redness, swelling, or excessive tearing are also signs that a specialist evaluation is needed.
